MPEC Tarnowskie Góry
The heating system in Tarnowskie Góry exists since 1974. At the beginning it was a part of Fazos factory, and thereafter a subsidiary of PEC Bytom. As an independent company MPEC exists since 1997, and since 1999 it was owned by Tarnowskie Góry municipality. In December 2003 the company was privatized and became part of Praterm Group.
The heating plant consists of 4 boiler houses of which the biggest is equipped with 2 coal boilers WR-25 and 3 coal boilers WR-10. Total installed capacity of the system is 118,9MW. The grid is 4,7km long with a volume of 1086m3. The HP produces over 529,000GJ and sells 485,000GJ annually.

Straight after the privatization the modernization of the system has been started. As part of the modernization, the whole system will be automated, the distribution network will be developed and 4 boiler houses will be connected into one system, allowing to close down local boiler houses.
The company managed by Kazimierz Renk employs 106 people.
